Focusing on Ephesians 5:3–5, this study examines the stark contrast between a life of moral purity and the walk of the world. It unpacks the sins of sexual immorality, impurity, greed, and corrupt speech, explaining why these behaviors are “not fitting” for a Christian. It draws a clear connection between these sins and idolatry, as they prioritize selfish desires over God. The study also offers a practical solution: cultivating a life of thankfulness to combat these sins. This practice helps to reorient a person’s focus away from worldly desires and toward gratitude for God’s grace and provision.
